Effect of tungsten on the mechanical properties of solid solutions of α-titanium with 3% Zr

1978
1. The ultimate strength, hardness, and electrical resistivity increase with the tungsten concentration up to 10% in alloys of Ti+3% Zr+W. For the alloy with 7–8% W the ultimate strength is 110–120 kgf/mm2 and the relative elongation 15–16%. 2. Aging of the alloys leads to some reduction of the strength and increase of the ductility.
