The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a battery pack and a battery pack. The battery pack comprising: a battery cell, said battery cell comprising a housing and at least one cell tab, the housing includes a flange, said tab means extending through said flange; and a protection circuit module, the protection circuit module comprises a circuit board positioned on the top side of the flange, said circuit board being positioned on at least one electrode tab, and the at least one circuit device is positioned on the circuit board and the at least one cell tab is connected to the at least one electrode tab.
