Accident damage that occurs during an autonomous driving a motor vehicle shall be recognized reliably. For this purpose, a transport system with a drive (1), which is drivable independently of a motor vehicle (2) is provided. The transport system also has a detection device (4, 12) for detecting a first state of the motor vehicle (2) in an entrance area (3) outside the driving area (1) and for detecting a second condition in an exit region (11) within the driving portion (1 ). In addition, the transport system has an evaluation device (6) for detecting a possible difference in the second state opposite the first state in terms of damage to the motor vehicle (2).
