The invention relates to a method for producing a display panel and the display panel. The method comprises the following steps: forming a first seal and a second seal on a first substrate, wherein a strip of the first seal is formed between the two adjacent display panel units, and two strips of the second seals are formed between the two adjacent display panel units. First, second and third cutting lines are defined on the first substrate, the first cutting line and the second cutting line are arranged between the two adjacent display panel units, and the third cutting line is respectively overlapped with the corresponding first seal. The first substrate is adhered with a second substrate by the first seal and the second seal. The second substrate is cut along the first cutting line, the second substrate and the first substrate are cut along the second cutting line, and the second substrate and the first substrate are cut along the third cutting line, so that the display panel units are separated to form a plurality of display panels.
