A case of primary malignant melanoma of lung and literature review

Objective To investigate the pathohistological morphology and clinical features of primary malignant melanoma of the lung (PMML) and improve the diagosis level of clinician.Methods A rare case of PMML in Jining First People's Hospital was reported and the pathohistological morphology and therapy of 32 cases of PMML were retrospectively analyzed.Results A 22-year old male had comlainted hemoptysis for eight months and aggravation for three days.Computed tomography showed many nodles in the lung.Pathohistology showed primary malignant melanoma through thoracoscope.32 cases of PMML had been previously reported in foreign literatures and 22 in abroad literatures,the symptom was mostly hemoptysis and cough.Computed tomography showed isolated bolus.Conclusions The case of PMML with many nodles in the lung is reported firstly in abroad and domestic.Surgical completed resection is th e first option of therapeutic strategy.Chemotherapy and radiotherapy can be selected in the advanced stage.
