Nuclear-structure effects in a microscopic theory for (α, α′) reactions in even-even tin isotopes
1979
We study (α, α′) transitions in tin isotopes as compared to electromagnetic analogue ones and test their sensitivity to microscopic nuclear-structure details. In particular the role of the radial shape of the single-particle shell model state is investigated by comparing a harmonic-oscillator potential with a Woods-Saxon one. A microscopic model for the nuclear many-body wave functions is used in the framework of the quasi-particle (qp) theory: the effect of four qp in the nuclear wave function is explored.
