X-ray emission spectra of fluorinated Bi2223 compound

Abstract The results of measurements of FKα X-ray emission spectra of Bi 1.65 Pb 0.35 Sr 2 Ca 2 Cu 3 O y F 0.75 and related compounds CaF 2 , SrF 2 , CuF 2 , PbF 2 , BiF 3 and BiOF are presented. It is found that the width of F Kα X-ray emission spectrum, and fine structure and intensity of K 1 L 1 high energy satellite of Bi2223:F are very close to those of SrF 2 and quite different in comparison with other F-containing compounds. It is concluded that in Bi2223:F the doped F-atoms substitute oxygen atoms in SrO planes and form mainly FSr bonds.
