Study on Water Holding Capacity of Layer on Two Main Swamp Vegetation Types in Dushan of Guizhou Province

The mass of moss marsh layer was about 44. 69 t /hm2,paludification meadows layer was 11. 24 t / hm2. The water holding capacity of swamp vegetation layer is proportional to the stock accumulation. The biggest water holding capacity mosses swamp was between 25. 79 to 120. 01 t / hm2,an average of 69. 55 t/hm2. The largest water holding capacity of paludification meadows was between 10. 27 to 62. 82 t / hm2,an average of 37. 92 t/hm2. The water holding capacity of swamp vegetation layer will gradually decrease to a constant. The basic constant water holding capacity arrived after 20 days under the condition of laboratory test.
