COMPLICATIONS NEONATALES PRECOCES DU FAIBLE POIDS DE NAISSANCE A DOUENTZA, REGION DE MOPTI

2020
Low birth weight (LBW) is an important indicator of neonatal health due to its relationship to infant mortality and morbidity and the complications it causes. The objective of this study was to evaluate early neonatal complications LBW.  We conducted a cross-sectional study in Douentza health centers from January 2015 to December 2016 to study the early neonatal complications of LBW. The data were entered on Epi-Data 3.1 and analyzed on SPSS 20. A logistic regression was carried out to measure the strength of the association.  The prevalence of LBW was 9.2%. According to the final descending Wald model, predictive variables such as asphyxia and hypothermia were associated with the occurrence of LBW (aOR: 2.99 (1.70-5.28)), and (aOR: 2.48 (1.16-5.32), respectively.LBW is associated in this locality with asphyxia and hypothermia. A longitudinal study is necessary to better elucidate these complications of LBW taking into account the limitations of this. Keywords: Complications, Low birth weight, Douentza
