Material and methods. The study includes 100 patients (33 men, 67 women, mean age 55.7±10.5 years) who were hospitalized with confirmed at least one year before diagnosis «hypertension». They were divided into two groups. The first compliance group included 76 (76%) patients who carefully took prescribed medicines. The second noncompliance group consisted of 24 (24%) patients who did not perform medical prescriptions. Basic demographic indicators were recorded in all patients. We took into account stage and degree of hypertension, duration, patient’s age at onset of the disease, presence of family history, psychogenic provocations for blood pressure increase and hypertensive crises, as well as the symptoms associated with increased blood pressure, target organs damage. We analyzed data of laboratory and instrumental investigations. Types of patients’ reactions on hypertension were studied. Results. The frequency of anxious reactions in this study was the most significant difference between both groups. Also «cerebral» symptoms in clinical picture and premature beats had significant impact on patients’ adherence to antihypertensive therapy.
