Gestión de calidad en las empresas de obras públicas: Una mirada a la ejecución de viviendas de interés social

The objective of this study was to analyze quality management in public companies for the construction of affordable housing in western Venezuela. It was framed in descriptive quantitative methodology, under a non-experimental, field and transectional design. The population was made up of sixty-one (61) managers applying a questionnaire made up of seventy-eight (78) items with a frequency scale validated through the judgment of experts with a reliability of 0.96 (Excellent - Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient). Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, through the study of the arithmetic mean and standard deviation, supported by the recorded frequencies. It is concluded, according to the perception of the respondents, a regular quality management in said companies, there is a moderate compliance with the processes, a low use of the elements, a low presence of the principles and a low application of the indicators of management. Therefore, they are presented with the need to thoroughly review their actions to achieve quality levels, where the implementation of mechanisms to manage it is imperative, they must incorporate business management strategies and techniques that guide them towards achieving excellent quality management, with direct and obvious implications in operations related to the construction of affordable housing.
