ELECTRON BEAM WELDING

Electron beam welding is of interest for special applications. After some introductory remarks on the conditions which have led to the development of this welding technique, the physical engineering principles of the method are reported. A survey of the known installations is given. The insttuments can be divided into three groups according to them construction charactenistics. An apparatus developed in th Institut fur Angewandte Physik der Reinstoffe, Dresden and some welding studies made there are reported. (tr-auth)
