Separation methods applied to arsenic speciation

2019
Abstract In this chapter, we will focus on the different separation methods including chromatographic and non-chromatographic methods for arsenic speciation. For chromatographic methods, we will introduce high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography (GC), and electrophoresis (CE). Among them, HPLC is the most commonly used for arsenic speciation with versatile separation modes available. For non-chromatography methods, the mechanism and extraction modes of liquid phase (micro)extraction and solid phase (micro)extraction, along with the application in the separation/preconcentration of arsenic species, are reviewed.
