A novel SRAP marker of the resistant gene for powdery mildew in melon.

2010
The mapping population was constructed with the susceptible melon A120 and the resisant melon A119 as parents. The markers of resistance to powdery mildew were screened with the BSA and SRAP technique. The results showed that 6 primers of 294 SRAP primers could detect the polymorphism between the resistant pool and susceptible pool.No band were detected in 8 high-resistant individuals and signature band of 210 bp and 205 bp were amplified respectively in 8 high-susceptible individuals with me46em51 and me3em6,which was correspondent to the results in resistant and susceptible pool.Based on the linkage analysis by JoinMap3.0,the distance between the two markers with the powdery mildew resistance gene were 18.2 cM and 23.4 cM separately. It is preliminarily deduced that powdery mildew resistance in melon is controlled by polygene recessive genes.
