Theory and concepts in qualitative research : perspectives from the field

These essays focus on the roles and uses of theory in qualitative educational and social research. There are three sections: defining the issues; theory at work; and theory in perspective. A variety of approaches is incorporated, including ethnographic, postmodern, and educational criticism.
