Pneumonia Bronchioloalveolar Carcinoma Misdiagnosed as Pneumonia:A Case Report

Objective To explore the causes of misdiagnosis of Pneumonic BAC in order to improve the early diagnosis.Methods Retrospective analysis of clinical data of one misdiagnosd case of Pneumonic BAC was made.Results The patient who was treated in medical clinic and city hospital for 20 d was admitted for cough for 2 months,shortness of breath after movement for 40 d,and aggravation for half a month.The patient was misdiagnosed as having tuberculous pericarditis and community-acquired pneumonia.After the treatment of the anti-inflammation and anti-tuberculosis,the patient underwent dyspnea progressive aggravation,swelling and distension in right upper extremity and multiple thrombosis.Flexible bronchofiberscope examination and biopsy showed a small number of special-shaped cells in lung tissues and bronchial mucosa.The patient was diagnosed as having BAC after pathology examination.After 10 d of hospitalization,due to the rapid progress of the patient's condition,the patient died from respiratory failure.Conclusion The cause of misdiagnosis is attributed to the lack of clinical experience and knowledge by the physicians.So it is necessary for the clinicians to broaden diagnostic thinking,dynamic and detailed observation,in-depth inquiry,inspection,comprehensive analysis,and a reasonable choice of medical technological check in order to avoid misdiagnosis.
