An UWB antenna loaded with BST for band notch

2017
In this paper, a novel technique to design a band-notched UWB antenna by using Barium Strontium Titante (BST) is proposed. A printed slot UWB antenna with size of 16 mm× 27 mm is adopted as a basic antenna. A piece of cylindrical BST slab with 1 mm height and 2.4 mm diameter is attached on the feeding layer of the antenna to achieve band-notched characteristics. The simulated −10 dB bandwidth of the antenna without BST slab is 3.1–11 GHz. With loading of different size of BST slabs at different positions, band notches of WLAN 5 GHz (5.15–5.825 GHz) and X-band satellite communication services (7.25–7.75 GHz) are obtained respectively. The tuning of notch band is also developed by adjusting the relative permittivity of BST.
