Experiencia clínica con Plesinox en patologías recurrentes derivadas a consulta de ORL

2018
The most common causes of recurrent infections referred for ENT consultations are usually viral, bacterial and/or immune system impairment. Various studies using Polypodium leucotomos have demonstrated its antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulating action. Studies carried out using vitamins and minerals have shown a strengthening of these effects. The effect of Plesinox, a food supplement that includes Polypodium leucotomos extract, vitamins A and C and selenium, was evaluated in a group of patients with recurrent ENT infections.Materials and Method: A retrospective observational study was conducted on a group of patients aged between 4 and 84 years, assessing the decrease in frequency of episodes after subjects began receiving the medication (3 months) and the symptom-free period during the 6 months following the end of treatment. Results: Reduction of recurrent episodes in a group of 48 patients 6 months subsequent to treatment. Conclusions: Plesinox has been shown to contribute significantly to decreasing the number of recurrent episodes.
