Die neue MAC-Deinkingzelle

1996
Lamort has engineered a new flotation cell dubbed MAC cell (Multi Aeration Closed). It is a closed cell whose aeration stages - in variable number - are superposed. Foam is discharged under slight pressure through the so-called laminating valve. Foam height is adjustable, which enables to act on the deinking operation and to have high foam consistency and very few fibre losses. The cell is fitted with new-type canister-mounted self-cleaning injectors. The quantity of air absorbed is adjustable and this air can be recycled from the foam outlet All these features result in high system efficiency while considerably simplifying monitoring and maintenance. This cell has only been on offer for two years, yet 11 units are already running for productions up to 260 tpd, in conventional preflotation, in post- and secondary flotation. At the last PTS symposium we outlined the principle of this new cell, along with the performance of a prototype. The first industrial cells have now been commissioned and we are able to give you the results from specific applications in mills across the EU : deinking for printing-writing, deinking with deashing for tissue, deinking line for newsprint with in-line pre- and postflotation plus secondary flotation.
