Research on the Stability of Reservoir Slope and the Corresponding Influence Mechanisms Induced by Fluctuation of Water Level

A typical slope which is located in the reservoir region is taken to be analyzed using the simulation method and some results about the stability of slope which is under different conditions of water level fluctuation can be obtained.Based on these results we can know that both the type and rate of water level fluctuation can influence slope stability,and different conditions will induce different effects.In this paper we provided an analytical method to obtain an ideal relationship among hydraulic gradient,seepage direction and slope angle.Effort was devoted to studying the water flow characteristics and corresponding influence.Furthermore,starting from the aspect of effective stress theory,this paper also paid attention to the influence mechanisms induced by water-level fluctuation,and all the results obtained by using these methods can well be consistent with each other.
