Three-Level Inverter-Oriented Metro Permanent Magnet Synchronous Traction Motor Vector Control System

More and more attention has been paid to permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) in rail transit system due to its efficiency, energy saving, high power density and power factor, light in weight and other advantages. The distance between metro stations is short, so the locomotive needs to be started and applied with brake frequently. Therefore, there are high requirements on the speed control system of the traction motor of the locomotive. Aiming at the situation, a PMSM vector control system powered form three layers traction inverter is established in the paper, for increase the harmonic component, output and the pulsation of the torque. A model of three-level traction inverter and PMSM vector control system controlled on account of SVPWM is set up using MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation software and simulated. Indicate the control system starts fast and is perfect speed adjusting function. So it meets the operating requirements of the locomotive, thus the feasibility and its precision is verified.
