Bulk texturing of prereacted Bi/Pb(2223) under triaxial stresses at room temperature

Abstract The use of triaxial stresses within the high-fluid-pressure scope is proposed as a new technique for texturing at room temperature isostatically pre-compacted Bi 1.8 Pb 0.4 Sr 2 Ca 2.2 Cu 3 O 10.3+x powder samples. Preliminary results based mainly on microscopy observations indicated that the as-deformed samples have been textured with the c-axis parallel to the pressing direction.
