Recent Advances in the Development of Pure Organic White Light Emitters

2021
Abstract White light emission has received tremendous attention owing to their vivid potential application in display and lighting devices based on OLEDs. Several approaches have been explored to achieve efficient white light emission in solution, as well as, solid state. Achievement of white light emission by a single component system has been a challenge due to the constraints imposed by Kasha’s rule. Furthermore, mixed emitters often suffer in terms of efficiency because of the undesirable intramolecular interactions and energy transfer processes. Therefore, several research groups have tried to address these problems through novel synthetic and energy transfer approaches. The objective of this review is to discuss the recent significant achievements made in the field of white light emission applying pure organic molecules.
