ADDITION REACTIONS INITIATED BY RADIATION. ADDITION OF CARBON TETRABROMIDE TO STYRENE

The irradiation of a very dilute solution of styrene in tetrahalomethanes causes addition of free radicals created in the solvent to the olefinic double bond. The mechanism is that of the classic chain reaction, certain characteristics of which were studied. (tr-auth)
