Primary human intestinal epithelial cells as a tool to clarify disease mechanisms

2013
Abstract A newly available method for culturing primary human intestinal epithelial cells stands for a variety of possibilities within the field of regenerative medicine. Thus, this cell culture represents an excellent ex vivo-model system with numerous possible applications ranging from basic research and drug testing to diagnosis and possible new treatment options in the future. This article describes the method in short and elaborates in the context of future possibilities within the field of regenerative medicine.
