A Simplified Analysis Method of Voltage Stability Suitable for Large Power System with VSC-HVDC Connection for Offshore Wind Power

After the offshore wind power is connected to large power system via VSC-HVDC, the system voltage stability analysis has become more difficult. A simplified method for voltage stability analysis of this system is proposed in this paper. The details are as follows: Firstly, the difficulties of voltage stability analysis of large power grid with flexible DC connection for offshore wind power is analyzed. Secondly, based on the conventional equivalent method and the branch voltage stability index, a simplified method for voltage stability analysis of large power grid is proposed. Finally, based on an actual power grid, the adaptability analysis under different wind power output and different reactive power compensation is carried out, and the effectiveness of the method is verified.
