Haemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) is the most common cause of childhood acute kidney injury (AKI) [ 1-4 ] . HUS is defined by the triad of non-immune haemolytic anaemia (hemoglobin upper limit of normal for age) [ 5 ] .
