Tumor del estroma gastrointestinal (GIST) A propósito de un caso

2006
Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors are the most common mesenchymal neoplasm of the digestive tract. Most of them arise from the stomach although some might originate from other organs. They tipically have an exophytic growth pattern and manifest as dominant masses outside the organ of origin. We report the case of a 53 year old male patient who presents abdominal distension and reflux for several months. He denies other sympthoms. The lab and endoscopy were unremarkable. A CT scan was performed and led to a biopsy. The pathologic diagnostic and the inmunohistochemistry confirmed a gastrointestinal stromal tumor
