Avance en la farmacovigilancia desarrollando una aplicación sanitaria web y móvil por Enfermería: ExpiryDateMedicines

2018
Introduction: One of the duties of the Nurse Practitioner is pharmacovigilance. The pharmacovigilance products are the medicines from the crash cart, among others. For this purpose, an ICT solution was developed by a nursing professional with a programming profile. Objectives: To facilitate pharmacovigilance in the coordination, communication and real-time information of the personnel involved in this supervision and control. Eliminate duplication of effort, confusion and uncertainty. Methodology: The Web application was implemented on Android support. A descriptive analysis was performed. The overall degree of satisfaction with the use of Expirydatemedicines was assessed through an ad hoc Likert-type survey of 1 to 5 (1 totally disagreed and 5 totally agreed). Categorical variables are described by percentages and continuous quantitative variables by the mean (standard deviation). Results: There were no records from 0 to 2, with 3 being 6.25% (DE:-1.3125), with 4 being 56.25% (DE:-0.3125), and with 5 being 37.5%, 50% were supervisors (DE:+0.6875). Discussion: The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists recommends implementing new technologies to reduce errors. We must make rational use of 18% of the expenditure on medicines in the GDP. Protecting against feelings of guilt (57%), distress (50%) and anger (42%) that appear in 88.6% when mistakes are made during pharmacovigilance. Conclusions: Unique access, avoiding confusion and uncertainty. It facilitates the control of expiration dates in real time and allows simultaneous access to several users, avoiding duplication of tasks.
