Screening methods for identifying pufa-pks in a sample

The present invention relates to a method for rapidly and simply identify the PUFA PKS in microorganisms. The method is characterized by the fact that PUFA (polyunsaturated fatty acids) specifically occurring DNA portion representing the PKS is duplicated in vitro. The specific amino acid sequence LGIDSIKRVEIL of PUFA PKS, it is possible to obtain the oligonucleotides used for efficient PCR screening of PUFA PKS genes or PUFA-producing microorganisms. The method of the present invention is particularly suitable for high throughput screening of microorganisms for PUFA PKS genes.
