O estresse na residência em saúde e a proposta de uma nova disciplina em busca do bem estar ocupacional do discente: um estudo à luz da fenomenologia

2018
The medical and nursing residency are activities considered stressful. The complexity of the procedures, the degree of responsibility in decision making, the great demand for care, the interpersonal relationship and shift work favor occupational stress. The objective of the study is to understand the perception of medical and nursing residents about the stress in their work activities, as well as their implications in the personal and professional environment. Specific objectives: to describe the perception of these professionals on the stress experienced in the light of Merleau-Ponty; identify coping resources used by health residents to cope with stress; present a proposal of discipline for the curriculum of the residency in health. Phenomenological research, descriptive, with qualitative approach, data collected through an open interview and treated by the Amadeo Giorgi method. The study had 32 participants. The field was the Army Central Hospital. After the apprehension of the meanings and interpretation of the results we perceive in the speech the experience of the stress in several levels. We understand the importance of guiding the resident in facing the stress situations in the hospital, respecting the uniqueness and perception of each one. We conclude that with the phenomenological understanding of the daily life of the resident, from the knowledge of their experiences, thoughts and strategies for their occupational health can be strengthened. As a result of this work, we created a project of a new discipline for HCE residency programs that aims to promote a reflective process among the perceptive dimensions in the field of occupational health
