The most common pests of flowers in greenhouses

The study was conducted in various types of protected area. Insect pests recorded during our research, mostly belonging to superfamily Coccoidea (24.39%), to the families Aphididae (17.08%) and Thripidae (14.63%), while the other species were found in lower populations. The following species were identified: Trialeurodes vaporariorum, Aphis fabae, Myzus persicae, Planococcus citri, Pseudococcus viburni, P. longispinus, Saissetia coffeae, Chrysomphalus aonidum, Coccus hesperidum, Frankliniella occidentalis, Echinothrips americanus, Bradysia sp. and Scatella sp. Considering that cultivation of flowers is important branch of the economy, whose importance grows, more attention should be paid to researching of pests in floriculture and development and implementation of integrated plant protection.
