chaic-Phoenician (7 th - 6 th centuries b.C.) and Punic (5 th - 3 rd centuries b.C.), are presented in order to characterize the alloys and the manufacture techniques of the jewels. Different compositions have been found between both periods and also with the contemporary gold production of the Iberian Peninsula. In the Archaic production pecu liarly high levels of silver and possible natural electrum have been detected, whilst palladium has been quantified as a trace element in the Punic set. The possible geographical provenance of the palladium and the natural gold electrum is discussed according to geological and archaeological arguments. key w Ords : Archaic-Phoenician, Punic, Gold, Electrum, Iberian Peninsula, Provenance, PIXE.
