No field of medicine is better able to translate the revolutionary advances in molecular biology and genetics into the care of patients than the field of molecular nuclear medicine. The human genome project has been a stimulus to the development of what might be called “genetic sciences,” i.e., molecular genetics, human genetics, molecular nuclear medicine, and pharmacology.
