Theliver inHodgkin's disease'

1961
SYNOPSISThisisa surveyoftheincidence, morphology, andsignificance ofhepatic changes in Hodgkin's disease Hepatomegaly andabnormal results inliver function tests arefrequently encountered inpatients during thecourse ofHodgkin's disease. Itistacitly assumed inmanycases thatthese findings arepartofthe general disease process. We wereimpressed, however, bythefrequent occurrence ofhepatic changes unrelated tothepresence ofHodgkin's disease, and bythedifficulty indistinguishing Hodgkin's disease involving theliver fromother liver disease inthese patients. Thepresent study analyses 112necropsied cases ofHodgkin's disease withclinical orlaboratory evidence ofliver disease during life, orboth, and reviews theliterature inanattempt toelucidate this difficult problem.
