Study on the alteration of plasma maleic dialdehyde in the course of experimental acute pancreatitis and the protective effects of Rutoside

2009
Objective To evaluate the effects of rutoside(Ru)on the plasma maleic dialdehyde(MDA)during acute pancreatitis(AP)in rats. Methods The model of AP in rats was induced by retrograde injection of sodium taurocholate(3%)into the pancreatobiliary duct(1ml/kg body weight). The plasma MDA,enzymatic levels and pathology of the pancreas were was examined after Ru(30,60,120mg/kg,sc)administration.Results The plasma MDA was significantly elevated during acute pancreatitis. The pancreatitis injury was described as evident pancreatic acinar necrosis and polymorphonuclear cell(PWN)infiltration The pretreatment by Ru ameliorated the abovementioned adverse pathophysiological changes seen in control. Conclusion During the course of AP,rutoside ameliorated the plasma MDA abnormality and prevented pancreatic bleeding and necrosis protected pancreatic tissue.
