Clinical observation of diabetic peripheral neuropathy treated with Alprostadil

2012
Objective To observe and evaluate the therapeutic effect of Alprostadil on diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).Methods 84 cases of type 2 diabetic from February 2009 to February 2010 in our hospital were brought into study, the patients were randomly divided into A,B groups of 42 patients in each group using Alprostadil injection and Mecobalamin. The course of treatment was 2 weeks. Results The markedly number in A group was 37 cases, and effective number was 3 cases,so the effective rate was 95.2%.The A group of patients had a significant better treatment effect(P 0.05).Nerve conduction velocity, fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2 hours postprandial plasma glucose(2hPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c) were no significant difference between the two groups of patients. Conclusion The use of Alprostadil in treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy can effectively control the clinical symptoms, increase in nerve conduction velocity, delaying disease progression, which was confirmed to be suitable for clinical use.
