Noncovalent Assemblies of Cationic Porphyrins with Cage Macrocycles

In the paper noncovalent assemblies of cationic porphyrins (also referred to as porphyrins functionalized by quaternary pyridinium units) with cage macrocycles such as cyclodextrins, calixarenes and cucurbiturils are described. The shown examples of these assemblies are characterized in view of their syntheses, properties and possible applications.
