Study of n-Dodecane Hydroconversion over Ni/AlMCM-41 Catalysts

A series of AlMCM-41 samples were prepared with Al(NO3)3,NaAlO2 and Al(OPri)3 precursors using different characterization techniques(XRD,27Al MAS NMR,TEM,NH3-TPD and Py-IR).The evaluation of the catalysts in the n-dodecane hydroconversion shows that AlMCM-41 prepared using NaAlO2 contains more framework Al(IV) species and stronger acidity compared with those from Al(NO3)3 or Al(OPri)3.The Ni-containing AlMCM41 catalyst synthesized using NaAlO2 gives the symmetrical carbon number distribution and the largest amount of C4~C9 hydrocarbons in the cracked products due to its proper balance between metal and acid functions,while the catalysts prepared with Al(NO3)3 and Al(OPri)3 exhibit higher hydrogenolysis activity because of the insufficient acidity.
