Redesign of Satellite Systems Architecture to Have Capability to Replacement of the Equipment in Space

2011
Failure of any subsystem of a satellite, such as payload subsystem or communication subsystem, is considered death to the whole satellite. This is very big loss of crucial economic. Not only the cost of manufacturing another satellite again for the same job is the main reason of loss but also the time required for remanufacture operation will be not quite short. In this paper we will discuss a solution to avoid the loss of the working subsystems versus the non-working subsystem. The presented solution is to redesign satellite system architecture by dividing satellite subsystems into two or three groups, every group can work separately when failure happened at any subsystem. The system is working to isolate the group that contains failure. Only another small satellite contains a systems group to substitute the failure system should be launched. All groups, old and new, can work together by using internet technology; this solution can be used also to add another payload after launching the satellite.
