T…CNICA DE FRENOTOMIA PARA CORRE«√O DE FREIO LABIAL SUPERIOR EM ODONTOPEDIATRIA FRENOTOMY TECHNIQUE FOR CORRECTION OF UPPER LIP FRENUM IN PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

The upper labial fren um can vary in shape, size and position. A thick frenum can be associated to a median diastema and can i nterfere with brushing and speech. The frenum correction can be performed by surgery like frenectomy, which consists of partial or total removal of the frenum or frenotomy, which just requires the replacement of the frenum. This paper presents a case of a female patient, 8 years old, which due to the thick frenum and diastema,, the frenotomy technique was indicated to facilitate diastema r eduction and toless invasive and to require less operative time surgery.
