Dexamethasone inhibits leukocyte migration through endothelial cells towards smooth muscle cells - using a new triple Chamber migration assay

2000
Leukocyte interactions with endothelial cell monolayers (ECM) and smooth muscle cells (SMC) play a tremendous role during inflammatory processes. Several studies describe an inhibitory effect of dexamethasone on polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNL), endothelial cell funetion, and interleukin-1 (IL-1) release.
