5G Service and Slice Implementation for a Military Use Case

5G and Network Slicing enable operation of multiple isolated (logical) networks using a shared 5G network infrastructure. Thus, actors with strict requirements on security and availability such as the Military are studying the possibility of moving in the direction of using public 5G communication networks for some of their operations. In this paper, we define 5G services for a Military use case, and propose the design and implementation of the network slices for these services, using the H2020-ICT-17 5G-VINNI Norway Facility. Innovative solutions are presented such as for Autonomous Edge to provide high availability for Military services.
