Production of polyurethane coating

PURPOSE: To apply a polyurethane coating to a leather or fabric substance in a specific layer thickness in a large scale in the absence of a solvent or in the presence of a small amt. of the solvent by using a compsn. prepared by mixing polyisocyanate and a specific isocyanate reactive component in a mixer. CONSTITUTION: At least one polyisocyanate, polyol with a mol.wt. of 500 or more and at least one isocyanate reactive component comprising of an OH- functional chain extender with a mol.wt. of 500 or less or sterically hindered diamine are mixed in a mixer and 10 wt.% or less (pref., 3 wt.% or less) of a solvent (e.g.; acetone, etc.), is added to the resulting mixture and the obtained compsn. is applied to a substrate in a thickness of 0.1-0.3 mm. The system of polyisocyanate and the isocyanate reactive component has reactivity of 30-500 sec at 23°C. COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
