Casting Process Design of Cast Steel Riding Wheel R2178 21-2A

According to the solidification characteristic of riding wheel castings,the traditional method was used to calculate the dimensions of chills,the pouring systems and the feeding systems in the design of the casting process.The process was simulated by simulation software Z-Cast,the results indicate that many shrinkages occurr in the casting.In order to eliminate the shrinkages,the casting process was optimized by using pad and insulated risers,which decreased the shrinkages,so the reasonable casting process was gained.
