The impact of diffraction enhanced imaging with different X-rays energies

2010
To discuss the relation between the visibility of X-ray diffraction enhanced imaging (DEI) and X-rays energy, DEI imaging of liver tissue was studied using the hard X-rays from 4W1A beam line at the Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF). The peak-position image, which is recorded at the peak of the rocking curve, has higher visibility. The visibility of the peak-position image or apparent absorption image keeps unchanged when different X-ray energies are used. The visibility of refraction image tends to be weakened when the X-ray energy is increased. As a result, the visibility of peak image or apparent absorption image is better when using 15 keV X-rays, but the visibility of refraction image is best when using 10 keV X-rays.
