Syllogism: Assisted Self-Production, Social Innovation

2012
Economists are mainly interested in monetary economics. While GDP measures a nation’s wealth and standard of living, it marginally takes into account domestic production and all that falls under self-production. The self-production and Social Development Program aims to ensure that governments become aware that the development of self-production–“particularly in the areas of food and housing–“helps to fight against exclusion and promote sustainable development. The activities of people willing to invest in projects that affect them constitute a real resource. To develop them, one needs to identify and face a series of obstacles linked to behaviors, attitudes or institutional functioning. JEL Codes: A13, A14
