A singular semilinear problem with dependence on the gradient

Abstract In the present paper we study the problem of finding classical and weak solutions for a semilinear elliptic equation involving a singular term and a nonlinearity depending on the gradient. The approach we follow, based on a suitable combination of sub–supersolutions techniques and fixed point theory, is not quite the same in the two cases and requires different kind of assumptions.
