Radiative moderation of an electron beam by a silicon crystal
1983
Abstract Intensity decrease of a 26.6 GeV/ c electron beam with angular divergence of about ±1 mrad caused by radiative energy losses in an oriented silicon crystal 0.34 r.l. thick was measured. Beams of moderated electrons in the momentum region of 7.5–17.5 GeV/ c were obtained. Strong orientation effects were observed for intensities of all beams. The experimental results are satisfactorily described with the known relations for coherent bremsstrahlung in crystals.
