Retrograde injection of a nutrient vein with cement in cemented total hip arthroplasty.

2002
Abstract An 80-year-old woman received a cemented total hip arthroplasty. The surgery was performed without intraoperative complications. Postoperative radiographs and a computed tomography scan revealed a nutrient vein perforating the femur, which was retrogradely filled with cement. An abdominal and thoracic computed tomography scan showed no further dissemination of cement. Copyright 2002, Elsevier Science (USA). All rights reserved.
